In the fall of 1990, we displayed these drawings alongside a mock-up of our first aircraft, the autonomous Perseus proof-of-concept, at NASA's Ames Research Center. The aircraft was designed for NASA's Environmental Research Aircraft and Sensor Technology (ERAST) program to develop cost-effective UAVs capable of performing long-duration science missions at altitudes above 60,000 feet. PAV accelerated innovation and advanced the development of urban air mobility. The workshop gathered a distinguished group of industry and academic leaders, and our team played a key role in facilitating discussions on the role of the AIAA community in creating a unified vision for sustainable flight. Participants discussed critical challenges in the industry and reached a consensus on several strategic priorities.
