???? ZOOMING IN: Chemical Marker Compounds Testing in #Florence ?? Ahead of the first AURORA Project webinar, taking place on January 29 (15:30–17:00 CET), we’d like to highlight a recent study visit to Florence (Italy). ?? Last month, Azra Becevic Sarenkapa, conservator and museum adviser from the #NationalMuseumOfBosniaAndHerzegovina, visited AURORA partner organisation CSGI as a BMN representative. -- ?? The primary aim of the study visit was to investigate the properties and potential applications of chemical markers on various substrates found in museum collections. ?? The team tested a range of binders, substrates, and inks in real-world museum contexts, with particular focus on the interaction between chemical markers and protective coatings, as well as the performance of UV-visible markers. -- ?? Be?evi? ?arenkapa shared her thoughts on the experience: "It was a great pleasure to test samples in various real-life use cases and see the results firsthand. We tested different options with wood and experimented with marking textiles, basketry, and other types of objects. I believe it was very valuable for both parties involved to learn from each other and exchange knowledge and expertise in this way." -- ???? If you're interested in learning more about the study visits and advances in anti-counterfeiting technologies, be sure to follow the links in the comments! ???? . . . #AURORAProject #EUHorizon #Conservation #Museums #ChemicalMarkers #MaterialsScience #DigitalTechnology #IllicitTraffickingOfCulturalProperty #SafeguardingCulturalHeritage #CulturalHeritage
