Well-Elderly Day was created to recognize the wisdom and contributions of the elderly population. It is also a day to share ways to age healthfully and with purpose. Here are some fun and practical ways to celebrate the elders in our lives. 1. Have a family gathering focusing on a span of generations and invite those 60 and older to share their stories. 2.?Visit a retirement community hosting a “Story Telling” session and listen to residents recount their lives and experiences. 3.?Volunteer with older adults or at organizations that service the elderly. 4.?Encourage each other to get routine wellness checks. These can be for physical health, mental health or financial health. ? ?? ? Lights out! Lunar eclipse to reveal ‘blood moon’ in Friday’s wee hours. Almost a year after being overshadowed by 2024’s total solar eclipse, the moon will finally have its day in the sun this week. Or rather, its day?without?the sun. In the early morning hours this Friday, March 14, the Earth will line up exactly between the moon and the sun, giving North America a front-row seat to a total lunar eclipse. The totality phase, during which the Earth’s shadow fully covers the moon, will last for 65 minutes from 2:26 a.m. to 3:31 a.m. Eastern. During totality, the moon will appear reddish-orange due to light being filtered through the Earth’s atmosphere, earning it the nickname “blood moon.”?It’s sure to be a sight to behold and a vibrant reminder as to why we believe in a universe of possibilities. This will mark the first total lunar eclipse since November 2022. If you can’t stay up that late – or wake up that early – don’t fret. The cosmos have another one queued up for the Americas about a year from now, on March 3, 2026.

Bowman Insurance company in 1953 Brooklyn, she couldn't have known the history she was creating. Over 25 years later, the company moved to Manhattan and became the first Black-owned business on Wall Street. It was also the largest minority-owned American insurance company, boasting clients that included PepsiCo, Avon, Philip Morris, Time Warner and General Motors, and Procope became a leading voice for more equitable insurance practices to ensure fair coverage for individuals and families with lower income.
