Augeo is packed up and ready to head home from the 2025 Experiential Marketing Summit. But, those carry ons are a little heavier now with all the pearls of wisdom we picked up from all the wonderful participants. Augeo’s Creative Director, Nia Verpaele, Director of Technology, Marco Ogsimer, and UX/UI Designer, Melissa B. share their 6 biggest takeaways. 1. AI + human perspective = dynamic duo Leveraging the human perspective with AI helps resonate and deeply authentic. As outlined in trend 4 in our experiential trends report, AI is a business imperative and finding more compelling ways to leverage it as a teammate is essential. 2. Meet your audience where they're at Adam Walden, VP of Global Brand & Marketing at GitHub, reminded us of the power of hyper-personalization. From a Dungeons & Dragons-style demo to screen-free unplugged lounges, GitHub Universe 2024 showed how thinking outside the box can deepen engagement. This leans into trend 6 in our experiential trends report – talking about how audiences want tailored experiences. 3. Lead with story, not slides We’re re-centering narrative as the starting point for building immersive attendee experiences. When the story is clear, the impact is lasting. This is just one of the ways we’re seeing the industry respond to trends 2 & 3. 4. Swag falls flat without intention The Hall of Ideas was jam-packed. Each exhibitor’s choice for giveaways felt thoughtful and purposeful; blue light glasses given out at a booth demoing LED screen, mini tote bags at a booth themed like a news stand, and even donations to a local organization for participating in Steelhead’s activity. We dive into this more in our trends report on page 20. 5. Being an expert in everything makes you an expert in nothing We were able to connect with other industry experts, and it was a great reminder to leverage the power of partnerships. From custom exhibitor booths and clever swag to the branding opportunities of our wildest dreams, we loved seeing what the pioneers of the experiential world are up to. 6. The need for fluency in both your core brand and event identity Colleen Bisconti, VP- Events & Experiences, IBM, Elizabeth Gilstrap, VP- Strategic Events, Salesforce, and Senior VP- Corporate Marketing, Cisco, Alex Sapiz, gave their insights on the value of making attendees feel immersed in the brand while still championing persona-first experiences. It was an incredible three days jam-packed with innovative solutions and fresh ideas. We are so grateful to our industry partners for sharing!
