Auburn is perfectly positioned in Western Washington between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma.
关于我们
Auburn is the center of the largest industrial complex in the northwest and sits in the middle of the major north-south east-west routes of this region. With two rail roads and close proximity to the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma, Auburn was identified by the Department of Commerce this year as one of only 15 Innovation Partnership Zones in Washington State. With continued job expansion and above average retail growth, Auburn enjoys a vibrant and sustainable business environment. Auburn is about one hour from Mt. Rainier, Crystal Mountain and Snoqualmie Ski Area. It is also home to several biking and walking trails, including the White and Green River trails and the Interurban Trail. Auburn has approximately 30 parks of all sizes for the whole family to enjoy. There are two golf courses in Auburn: the Auburn Golf Course and Washington National Golf Club. Auburn has reason to be proud of its schools. They pride themselves in providing an excellent education that produces students who have a love of learning and a sense of responsibility. Auburn boasts over two dozen elementary, middle, and high schools, each one unique, but all offering a supportive learning environment designed to foster each student's natural abilities. Green River Community College provides the serious student a quiet, natural environment in which to study. This is a community that puts learning and education first. Come establish a sense of community in one of the oldest cities in the state of Washington. With unique architecture, combined with historic preservation and renovations, Auburn has retained the look and feel of a real downtown. Auburn's unique historic downtown still provides a gathering place for numerous events.

What started out as a 10-week internship turned into 8 months of getting to do what I love every single day: using innovation, digital media, and community engagement to tell the City of Auburn’s story— all while centering equity. I’m proud of my accomplishments across the City of Auburn’s social media and communications channels. Over the course of 8 months I … 1. Innovated the Small Business Spotlight Series— featuring 17 local businesses— 75% being POC, immigrant, or woman owned. This became the city’s highest performing social media series.? 2. Spearheaded the city’s first Harvest Highlight series, promoting 7 farmers market vendors over the summer. ?? 3. Developed weekly social media content for Hispanic Heritage Month, Black Business Month, Indigenous Peoples Month, and Black History Month— showcasing impactful community stories and educating the public on local and national history. ? 4. Documented 20 city events and initiatives through photography, videography, and reels— including Mayor Backus’s State of the City address and the regional Veterans Day Parade.?? 5. Co-hosted biweekly podcast episodes. 6. Contributed to the city’s magazine quarterly, distributed to 80K+ residents.? ?7. Kept up with social media trends, resulting in a post that went viral (880K+ plays on instagram). I knew I was doing my job right when residents would comment things like “whoever’s running this page is doing it right” and “I love to see our town embracing the current times.” I am so grateful to the entire city for this incredible opportunity to grow my skills in multimedia and communications. Thank you… Jonathan Glover— for being an excellent manager, supporting my creative visions, and helping me grow as a city communicator. My talented and creative team— Kevin McCoy, Jason Jones, Bridget Dohse, and Chester Boyd— who started out as mentors and became good friends. Jenn Francis and Emerson Folker for your unwavering support and partnership with all things economic development. And to all who made coming to work a genuine joy — Nancy Backus, Madeline Ralstin, MPA, Christina Alexander, Brianna Winters, Chardae Gillespie, Melissa Bailey, Tamie Bothell, Cynthia Gu, Sophia Martínez-Tohmi, Keisha Taylor, Amanda Valdez, Hilary Pittenger, and Pat Bailey to name a few. ?? I am excited to apply my passion and skills for media and communications in future roles!
