  • Join Helen O. for an Exclusive Presentation on the 42 CFR Part 2 Final Rule! ???Date:?February 25th, 2:30 PM-3:30?PM EST ???Register: https://lnkd.in/eUw3XNxq The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has introduced major updates to the Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Patient Records regulations under 42 CFR Part 2 (“Part 2”). These changes create NEW opportunities for secure sharing of patient information originating from Part 2 programs, while continuing to ensure strong patient privacy protections. Organizations previously hamstrung by Part 2’s unworkable consent standards and prohibition on redisclosing Part 2 information can now consider implementing the Final Rule’s new consent standards to permit more flexible data-sharing with appropriate recipients, including health information exchanges and networks (HIE/HINs)! ? Although compliance is not required until February 16, 2026, organizations can and should start preparing NOW to update policies, implement consent workflows, and train staff.
