?? Innovating at the Intersection of Technology and Heritage ??
Museums are often at the cutting edge of both technological and heritage innovation. Before joining the ECHOES EU family, I had the opportunity to help bring three industrial heritage sites to life using Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and interactive, hands-on exhibits. From February 8th to February 23rd, the public had the chance to explore these prototypes in an exhibition hosted at the Madame de Genlis exhibition space of the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris, France. It was amazing to see so many visitors experimenting with and engaging with these interactive experiences.
This project is funded by the French National Research Agency ANR, the French National Research Agency and will continue until the end of 2025.
Looking ahead, within the growing world of Heritage and the European Open Science Cloud, we should soon be able to experience and work with Digital Heritage Assets across Europe.
The upcoming Horizon Europe ECCCH (European Collaborative Cloud on Cultural Heritage) call presents exciting opportunities to elevate museum and digital heritage practices to the next level.
Additionally, smaller, cascading grants are now available through the ECHOES EU project, running through to 2029.
These opportunities can provide funding for both larger, transformative digital heritage projects and more targeted regional, national, or European digital heritage datasets and case studies.
