?? Innovating at the Intersection of Technology and Heritage ?? Museums are often at the cutting edge of both technological and heritage innovation. Before joining the ECHOES EU family, I had the opportunity to help bring three industrial heritage sites to life using Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and interactive, hands-on exhibits. From February 8th to February 23rd, the public had the chance to explore these prototypes in an exhibition hosted at the Madame de Genlis exhibition space of the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris, France. It was amazing to see so many visitors experimenting with and engaging with these interactive experiences. This project is funded by the French National Research Agency ANR, the French National Research Agency and will continue until the end of 2025. Looking ahead, within the growing world of Heritage and the European Open Science Cloud, we should soon be able to experience and work with Digital Heritage Assets across Europe. The upcoming Horizon Europe ECCCH (European Collaborative Cloud on Cultural Heritage) call presents exciting opportunities to elevate museum and digital heritage practices to the next level. Additionally, smaller, cascading grants are now available through the ECHOES EU project, running through to 2029. ?? Another ATRIUM TNA Scheme Fellowship in Poznań: Dr. Péter Király on Bibliographic Data and Translations ?? This week, we’re excited to share that Dr. Péter Király, a programmer and researcher from GWDG - Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH G?ttingen, is visiting Poznań as part of the ATRIUM: Advancing Frontier Research in the Arts & Humanities. Dr. Király is hosted by the Department of Current Bibliography (Pracownia Bibliografii Bie??cej Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBL PAN)), where Dr. Cezary Rosiński is providing expert support in data science. During his visit, Dr. Király will focus on: ?? Assessing the quality of bibliographic data from the European Literary Bibliography (ELB, https://lnkd.in/dTQyVfBj). ??? Developing tools for analyzing translation patterns in literary texts. ?? Comparing bibliographic data from various sources to identify similarities and differences in translation practices across Central Europe. ?? Contributing to the development of open-source tools and knowledge sharing. Berlin, Germany This five-day training event is designed for researchers, digital humanists, and cultural heritage professionals looking to enhance their OCR (optical character recognition) and HTR (handwritten text recognition) skills using?open-source?tools like eScriptorium. Participants will receive expert-led training, engage in hands-on sessions, and work on their own projects with personalized feedback.
