??Go Pack Go!?? A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, Joann's love for the team was inspired by her uncle Johnny, who was friends with Vince Lombardi. "Johnny used to go to the practices every night, even in the freezing cold. They're my family team. In fact, I'm a shareholder!" Joann loves to cheer for her team when she watches them play from her home at Atria Rocklin. "My favorite all-time Packers player is Bart Starr but currently, I really like rooting for Jordan Love, the quarterback." We asked her what she thought of the Bears, and all she had to say was, "Da Bears? Boo!"

"It feels good to stay active," shares Greg, a resident of Atria Westchase. He particularly likes the community's programs focused on stretching. "It helps release any pain I'm having." The community keeps residents moving through a variety of classes. Beyond feeling good physically, Greg says he's happy at Westchase. "I love the neighborhood, I love the people and the staff. It feels great to live in the community." And we can see why. Look at all these smiling faces!

Choosing where to live as we age is a major decision. While some people prefer to stay in their homes, senior living communities can provide the support needed to maintain independence longer. Our recent Caregiver's Guide blog explores the pros and cons of aging in place versus moving to a senior living community: https://ms.spr.ly/6048WmDj2

"My great-grandchildren are so special," shares Mary, a resident of Atria Marland Place. "I smile every time I see them. I love to hold them and talk to them." Mary's great-grandaughter, Bria, recently visited Marland Place for a family visit spanning four generations. It's no surprise such a cute baby brought smiles to the whole community. Outside of visits with her family, Mary enjoys the camaraderie her community provides. “I enjoy having my meals with friends and all the programs including ballroom dancing," Mary adds. "The staff are all so nice and if I need anything they are very willing to help.”

This Veterans Day, we’re proud to honor Lanny, a resident of Atria Lincoln Place and former Navy pilot. Lanny served more than 20 years, flying missions around the world, including transporting military VIPs and delivering much-needed aid to Ethiopia. Reflecting on his career, he says, “Getting qualified as a flight instructor for the Navy and being able to teach people how to fly a plane” was the most rewarding part of his service. He then went on to be a commercial pilot, and he even flew racehorses to the Kentucky Derby! We thank Lanny and all veterans for their courage and dedication. #VeteransDay

This is a story with love in every stitch. ?? ?? Reba and fellow residents at Atria at Hometown gather each week to crochet, quilt and share memories. The Nifty Needlers, as they're often called, have bonded over their shared love of the craft. Reba is currently working on a legacy piece that she will gift to her grandchildren to give to their children when they start their families. Each gift will have a personalized note from great-grandma Reba.

"My mom and I would like to express our appreciation for the invitation to attend such a festive party," shares Gae, the daughter of Atria on the Hudson resident, Bette. "Great music, warm company and delicious, abundant food. We had fun singing, eating and talking with the other residents." Bette, a resident since 2019, recently transitioned to the Memory Care neighborhood. "She told me she feels a sense of belonging," adds Gae. "This culture is fostered by the Life Guidance Director and is displayed by members of her care team." She goes on, "I am frequently in and out of the LG community and have observed the active, upbeat engagement, kind and gentle encouragement and compassionate care demonstrated by the team. This attentiveness instills a sense of trust that my mom is safe and being cared for. We look forward to our next resident and family gathering at Atria!"
