Amanda Paulson, PhD, UCSF Specialist and ATOM data scientist, recently showcased an exciting poster at #UCSFResearchAIDay —leveraging?Active Learning for in silico design of selective PARP1 inhibitors. This work highlights how AI is #accelerating #drugdiscovery and shaping the next era of #biomedical breakthroughs.
关于我们
The Accelerating Therapeutics for Opportunities in Medicine (ATOM) consortium is a public-private partnership with the mission accelerating the development of more effective therapies for patients. Our goal is to transform drug discovery from a slow, sequential, and high-failure process into a rapid, integrated, and patient-centric model. We are integrating high performance computing, diverse biological data, and emerging biotechnologies to create a new pre-competitive platform for drug discovery.

#announcement AMPL Release 1.6.3 resulting from the #UDelATOMHackathon Following the UD-ATOM Hackathon, the ATOM AMPL Developers and Herman S., #mentor for #Team Code Guardians, came together to #integrate Team Code Guardian's Pull Requests that included fixing the code and implementing continuous integration that would benefit AMPL in three ways:??? 1. Increased?developer productivity, 2. Encouraged?new contributors, and 3. Included Ruff Linter into our software development pipeline. ? The AMPL Developers rolled up their sleeves to implement these improvements!? ? #Thankyou to the AMPL Developers, Team Guardians, and Herman Singh!? ? To #learn more about AMPL, follow these links:? This summer, our University of California, San Francisco-ATOM #Trainees didn't just learn - they contributed to fast-paced, #cuttingedge #drugdiscovery research in Michelle Arkin's lab at UCSF.? ? Aleah Camacho and Sara Hussin immersed themselves in #experimental work under the #mentorship of Zain Alam and Maryam Pearson. They actively engaged in #designing, executing, and troubleshooting experiments?and?fostering #collaboration with lab colleagues. The analysis and interpretation of their data allowed them to extract meaningful insights from their research.?The summer research program culminated with final presentations where the trainees effectively?communicated?their findings to an audience of scientists, students, and peers?that showcased?their progress and achievements. ? #Thankyou, Aleah and Sara, for making our #inaugural Trainee program memorable! #partnership #nextgeneration #scientist #student #skills #ATOMTrainee #ATOMmentor #datascience

#thankyou for hosting ATOM! There were so many AMPL learnings from this group and some amazing outcomes. We can't wait to dig into the details from each problem set.
Day 3 #UDelATOMHackathon and a wrap up!!! WOW so many fantastic outcomes, bug fixes, learning the #AMPL framework and using it, parameter optimization, molecule generation, training, learning #GPU profilers, ethical considerations and so on! Here are some impressions! Await an article with a summary after we all get some ??!! Another great day in the books! #UDelATOMHackathon
Phew! ?? Day 2 #UDelATOMHackathon impressions! Not too long ago, some of us had captured the journey of a hackathon in the form of a publication "Best Practices in Running Collaborative GPU Hackathons" Thank you IEEE Computer Society CiSE for the publication https://lnkd.in/g4TamRnQ. It is fascinating (and not surprising) to repeatedly observe similar trends, in the on-going #UDelATOMHackathon as well! :-) The interdisciplinarity of the hackathon teams, the intense dialogues between the domain scientists & computer scientists to understand the problem better and deeper, contention of compute resources ?? and MOST importantly the mood ?? ?? ?? , the excitement ?? , the frustration ?? , anxiety ?? , eureka moments ?? , eyeroll moments ?? ! hehe :-) Do check out the mood curve in the pics attached (thanks to Fernanda Foertter - the author of the famous hackathon mood curve ??) which we have been experiencing in the #UDelATOMHackathon ATOM Accelerating Therapeutics for Opportunities in Medicine #UDATOMHackathon #ATOMHackathon #DrugDiscovery #momentinscience

A great second day for the #UDelATOMHackathon. Today we saw the wonderful results when IT professionals, researchers, scientists and students work together on team science challenges! We have open source software improvements, new AI predictive models for drug discovery, applications of generative AI to suggest new molecules, and much excitement and energy! A shout out to the universities joining in this #ATOMHackathon including University of Delaware, Delaware State University, Bowie State University, University of California San Francisco, University of California Berkeley, University of Southern California, Penn State University, and Northeastern University. Also a shout out to NVIDIA and MassMatrix for sending mentors as industry, academia and government join forces to deliver open source solutions for open science. Looking forward to seeing results from Day 3!
