Atlas Yoga is an international yoga retreat provider with a focus on interesting local travel experiences with a daily foundation of yoga. These retreats foster a strong sense of community among attendees, with lifelong friendships blossoming in just a few days. On an Atlas Yoga retreat you'll meet likeminded people, explore a new country, and have a much needed reset from the stresses of daily life. Atlas Yoga was co-founded by Erin Lyons and Brandon Copeland, travel couple and soulmates. Cheesy aside, their relationship was formed around travel – they met on a spring break cruise in the Bahamas and after a couple years of dating, decided to quit their jobs and take a year and a half trip around the globe. They made it 8 months (5 months South America, 3 months in India) before Covid-19 brought them home. However, they didn’t let that stop them – they decided to spend 3 months building out an empty cargo van into a pimped out camper van that they traveled in for 6 months while visiting every National Park in the continental US. Having visited 30+ countries and dreaming of visiting pretty much every other country in existence, it’s safe to say they know their way around! Love yoga, and desperately need a vacation? We've got you covered! There is still room on our Portugal 2024 retreat from June 27th to July 2nd 2024. This is our second go around, and while the first Portugal retreat was incredible, we added new excursions that will make it even better. This year, included in the price of the retreat, we will take a guided tour of the Douro Valley, a world famous wine region and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We also added a tour of a wine cave in Gaia, where port wine has been traditionally stored before being shipped around the globe. These excursions, on top of a boat cruise down the Douro River and a waterfall hike/swim, is just the cherry on top.
