When it comes to heating, cooling, and hot water, we believe smarter is better. Our CEO Jane Melia, Ph.D. joined Buildings Hub Live alongside heat pump leader Daikin Comfort and Atlas Public Policy to dive into how incentives, evolving policy, and cutting-edge tech are transforming the HVAC landscape. One key takeaway? Thermal energy storage—like Harvest’s Smart Thermal Battery—can shift 90% of a home's heating load to optimize for both the grid and the homeowner. That’s a game-changer for efficiency and affordability. Tune in to the conversation and see how smarter heating and cooling is becoming more accessible than ever. “Any time you’re restricting supply, it’s going to have a distortionary impact on the market beyond just those specifically imported products because as the total supply gets smaller, prices across the board are going to go up,” said Stephen Naimoli, an analyst at?Atlas Public Policy, a Washington, DC-based policy and data research firm." https://lnkd.in/gmSpaP6F

Today, President Trump's 25 percent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports goes into effect. While there is a 10 percent tariff carve out for Canadian energy products, residential heating prices are expected to spike — and if Canadian officials retaliate, they may climb even higher. The Atlas Buildings Hub's Market Factors dashboard tracks fuel prices as they are reported by the EIA. Additionally, read Buildings Hub's recent digest on how these new tariffs may impact the cost of constructing and maintaining the American building stock here: https://lnkd.in/e65adC4j
