After escaping the Taliban’s takeover of his home country of Afghanistan, Khalid Ramizy emigrated to Canada and founded the World Anti-Extremism Network (WAEN). His goal was to bring together freedom champions from around the world to counter the kinds of extremist and authoritarian ideas he’s seen cause so much harm. Last November, WAEN organized the Toronto Democracy Forum, gathering over 100 participants from over 15 countries to develop solutions to strengthen democracy and counter oppression. With support from Atlas Network, WAEN is combating radicalization and promoting individual freedom globally. Congratulations to Instituto de Ciencia Política Hernán Echavarría Olózaga (ICP) for winning this year’s Latin America Liberty Award. ICP’s executive director Carlos Augusto Chacón took the stage and delivered a heartfelt and inspiring speech, highlighting his organization’s unwavering commitment to protect private property and the rule of law in Colombia’s rural areas. While dedicating this award to the people of Colombia who suffer from poverty and violence due to lack of private property rights, Carlos emphasized that ICP will continue to fight against government overreach and policies that threaten individual freedom. Atlas Network is honored to support organizations like this that are helping their countries make strides towards greater economic and individual freedom.

Atlas Network's 2025 Latin America Liberty Forum exceeded my expectations (which were already high)! The energy and the passion that our partners and allies brought with them was unmatched, and having had the pleasure to spend time with some of my favorite people in Brazil made it truly unforgettable. Thank you to my team members and to the amazing partners we have the pleasure of knowing.

Atlas Network’s team was among the first civilians to return to Damascus by air. As the plane touched down, passengers clapped in celebration of a new era. Families who had been separated for years were finally reuniting, and the terminal was filled with balloons, the new Syrian flag, and a renewed sense of optimism. This was a clear sign that a truly revolutionary change had taken place, Syrians were celebrating the hope of stepping into a future free from the socialism, violence, corruption, and dictatorship they had experienced for decades. Atlas Network continues working alongside local allies to help build a freer, more prosperous Syria. Help advance freedom in Syria and the Middle East by donating here: https://lnkd.in/ea2vZHwD

The Lebanese Institute for Market Studies (LIMS) has successfully ended Lebanon’s harmful subsidy programs, removing price controls that caused shortages in essential goods like gas, electricity, and medicine. This work prevented $6 billion in government spending and helped restore over 300 goods to store shelves. Lebanon’s parliament even passed a historic zero-deficit budget in 2024. LIMS is now extending its successful model to Syria, where similar economic challenges—hyperinflation, currency devaluation, and shortages—persist due to government price controls. The strong ties between Lebanon and Syria, from shared electricity grids to labor mobility, highlight the importance of regional cooperation. Through its new initiative, Siraj: Syrians' Economic Renewal Journey, LIMS is supporting Syria’s move towards free markets, economic freedom, and competition, as the country’s new administration seeks greater prosperity after years of war and destructive policies. The 2024 election was supposed to mark a turning point for Venezuela, but instead, it became one of the most blatant power grabs in Latin American history. The regime declared Nicolás Maduro the winner—without evidence. With María Corina Machado leading the charge, pro-freedom organizations exposed the real election results through meticulous vote documentation and a nationwide movement for transparency. Machado, known as The Iron Lady of Liberty, continues to lead the resistance despite violent crackdowns. Venezuela’s movement for democracy is far from over, and Atlas Network is proud to support the brave voices demanding freedom. Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eU9MiMc4

People across the Middle East are pushing back against oppressive regimes in search of freedom and self-determination. Iranians have long sought to reform their government through elections, only to have their dictatorial government refuse to respect the results. Many are now looking for new ways—beyond the ballot box—to secure their rights and shape their own future, leading to a growing underground freedom movement. Listen in on this discussion as Dr. Tom G. Palmer and Iranian public policy scholar Mohamad Machine-Chian explore the future of free markets and individual liberty in Iran. This program depends on donations from supporters like you. Donate $25 or more, and we’ll send a printed copy of Freedom’s Champion magazine to your home: https://lnkd.in/dhxFFH_N
