Atlantic Global Risk LLC is pleased be fielding a team for the 2024?Pan-Mass Challenge?(“PMC”) taking place August 2nd-4th in Massachusetts. For 45 years, the PMC has drawn thousands of cyclists, volunteers, and supporters to rally together in the fight against cancer by fundraising for?Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research. Since 1980, the PMC has raised over $972 million for Dana-Farber with 100 percent of all rider-raised funds going directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter and contributes more than 60 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. As of today, the PMC has raised ~$41.6 million of the $75 million goal for 2024. ? Bob Koneck, Senior Vice President in our Structured Solutions practice, recently spoke with Bloomberg Law about the rapidly evolving interplay of legal finance and insurance. Bob, a former litigation funder, highlighted the value of "insurance-backed legal funding" - that is, cheaper nonrecourse legal funding secured by a litigation risk insurance policy covering the anticipated proceeds of litigation. As Bob explained: "There could soon come a time when insurance disrupts a meaningful portion of the legal finance market."
