The 2024 NAEP results highlight a significant achievement for Atlanta Public Schools! APS saw a 6.9% increase in 4th grade reading scores. This improvement is noteworthy because Atlanta is the only large urban school district to report gains in this area, as well as surpassing the state average. While there is still work to be done, we are encouraged by these results.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our wonderful partners, the College Football Playoff Foundation, School Specialty, and AT&T, for their generous contributions to King Middle School! They surprised the students with a brand new broadcasting center, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement, laughter, and engaging media discussions. In addition to the broadcasting studio, AT&T presented a generous check for $175,000 to support our students. Furthermore, the College Football Playoff Foundation donated $1,000 checks through DonorsChoose to both a teacher and a student! Thank you for making this experience so special for our students; we truly appreciate your support!
