This month, we will recognize and celebrate our “Women in Operations,” who are on the front lines providing clean, safe, reliable and affordable natural gas to our customers in the communities we serve. We kick off our series with Field Specialist Adia Carter, who specializes in servicing large natural gas meters. #WomensHistoryMonth

We are deeply committed to being a citizen where we serve. Atlanta Gas Light employees partnered with EverGreen, our employee-led, environment-focused volunteer group, to install a butterfly garden at Champions Place – Champions Community Foundation Inc home for young, disabled adults. ?? Every tree we plant helps restore ecosystems and support biodiversity. In recognition of ?? #GAArborDay ?? employee volunteers from Southern Company Gas & Atlanta Gas Light bundled up and planted 400+ trees and shrubs with Trees Atlanta, a follow-up from projects like #Plantlanta. Our goal is to preserve and protect the environment for the benefit of generations to come.

During #BlackHistoryMonth, we recognize and honor the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans, current and past, who have shaped our nation. At Atlanta Gas Light, we continue our efforts to create a more equitable future through education. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have shaped the academic and cultural landscape of America for over 150 years. This month, we will spotlight employees and their HBCU experiences. On this day of recognition for the immeasurable impact Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had on our great nation, we are making it “a day on, not a day off” by participating in the National Day of Service – volunteering and serving to improve our local communities. We all play an essential role in strengthening our communities and, ultimately, our nation. As we wrap up the year and celebrate the holidays, we’re feeling especially grateful for our employees who spent extra time this month to give back to our communities through our Energy to Give campaign. From food drives to toy drives, it’s been an honor to spread a little extra cheer in the communities we serve. Wishing everyone a warm and wonderful holiday season! ???? #EnergyToGive #GivingBack

The holidays are a great time to celebrate traditions and create memories. Sharing a quality meal can make these moments even more special and heartwarming. Last week, nearly 200 local Atlanta families received a free week's worth of groceries at a pop-up market at Atlanta's First Baptist Church, sponsored by the Atlanta Gas Light Foundation and GoodrCo. Volunteers distributed approximately 8,000 pounds of food to families in need, providing more than 6,600 meals. This holiday season and throughout the year, Atlanta Gas Light, its foundation and Goodr are making spirits bright by uniting to address food insecurity throughout Atlanta's communities.
