    We are pleased to announce that Joshua Cole has been promoted to the position of Senior District Executive at Michigan Crossroads Council in Detroit, Michigan! Joshua began his Scouting career as a District Executive serving the Appalachian Trail District in May 2021. He was promoted to the Lead District Executive for Appalachian Trail in March 2023 and District Director in April 2024. During his time in the Atlanta Area Council, Josh has made many contributions to the volunteers, youth, and the community. His most recent accomplishment was participating in an “Okpik” winter trek at Northern Tier High Adventure Base with Troop 8880. Joshua is a native of northeast Mississippi and moved to Atlanta in May 2021. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications. Josh is a lifelong Scouter with several years of Scouting experience, both as a youth and adult volunteer. He is an Eagle Scout, Brotherhood Order of the Arrow member, and has completed Wood Badge and Powder Horn training. He attended the 2013 National Scout Jamboree, 2015 National Order of the Arrow Conference, 2018 National Order of the Arrow Conference, and 2019 OA Trail Crew at Philmont Scout Ranch.   • We are pleased to announce that Tommy Monn has joined the Atlanta Area Council as Ranger at Bert Adams Scout Camp. Tommy will join Nick Scovanner in leading our facilities and customer service operations at Bert Adams Scout Camp among other responsibilities. Tommy will report to Nick Scovanner, General Manager of Camp Properties, who will provide guidance and support to ensure his success in his new role. Tommy has been involved in scouting since his days as a Tiger Cub in the Northeast Georgia Council. His passion for the outdoors and leadership development led him to serve on camp staff, first at Scoutland as a Life Skills Staff member, and later at Bert Adams, where he took on roles as Nature Staff, Nature Director, and Commissioner One. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2014. Tommy has been actively involved in supporting scouting events throughout the year. He has assisted with weekend programs, and council-wide events, ensuring scouts of all ages have meaningful experiences in the outdoors. Please join us in congratulating Tommy in his new role!

Julian joined the Atlanta Area Council in May 2022 as a District Executive serving the Soapstone Ridge District and in June 2023 he was promoted to Lead District Executive. In his new role, Julian will continue to be responsible for providing leadership in the areas of service to Cub Scout Packs, Scout BSA Troops, and Venturing Crews. His responsibilities include support for our youth recruiting efforts and fundraising including Friends of Scouting, the Trails’ End Popcorn Sale, and the Camp Card sale.
