AOS Architects recently completed a feasibilty study for the City of Bethlehem. The study for a new community center in the City's Southside, had several components: needs assessment, site selection, financial analysis, and conceptual design. Public outreach and community engagement were prioritized throughout the study to determine community needs and allow input on community center models and amenities under consideration. The project team, led by AOS Architects, worked with a local community facilitator, Donna G. Taggart, and MASS Design Group to organize the community outreach. Bethlehem’s Community Anthem, a five-minute film created and produced by MASS, captures the voices of Southside Bethlehem and is a record of the ideas and themes that informed the program and design of the community center. Financial feasibility was analyzed by Ideas and Action, and construction cost estimating was provided by Allied Building Corporation. The final report was presented to the community at an open meeting in January. Mayor J William Reynolds announced the formation of a Development Committee that will use the information included in the feasibility study to begin fund-raising for the new community center.?

Two of our renovation/restoration projects were featured on tours this week at the SCUP 2024 annual conference. Both at the University of Pennsylvania, College Hall gave tour participants a look into the almost completed West Wing renovations with Clemens Construction Company, while a tour of Louis I. Kahn's Richards Medical Research Labs brought conference goers to the completed building to talk about best practices for restoring the National Historic Landmark. https://lnkd.in/ghM5UEf9
