There is a similarity between the challenges athletes face and veterans - often in the same person. Help us raise awareness and break the stigma. Build community and find solutions.

Sport should transcend race, religion, sexual orientation and, in many respects, is a beacon of hope and opportunity. But it can only ever reflect the society and culture in which it operates. I have heard terrible racist things at football grounds around the UK - so the job isn't ever finished and we can't be complacent.

This is the shocking story of athletes suffering early onset dementia. We must do more to support these athletes and it starts with awareness. We all want to see the sports we love continue but we need to do more. "They played for their country in their 20s. If anyone is wondering what we're doing? It's a big job to raise awareness, build community and find solutions to the challenges athletes face: TBI, gambling addiction, addiction to pain killers/sleeping pills, alcoholism, eating disorders...and general mental health. We have a world class research network and are indebted to Onaya, Imperial College London, King's College London and The Johns Hopkins University for setting the bar of excellence so high.
