??Ready, set, cricket! Last week, we turned up the heat with an exhilarating box cricket tournament for our team members. Packed with incredible plays, roaring applause, and endless fun, the energy at Tiger 5 Sports Arena (our neighbour at the corporate office), was simply off the charts! Congratulations to team "IT Knight Riders" for emerging as the winners and to team "Johnnie Runners" for being the runners-up. A special shoutout to Rashid M Y from IT Knight Riders, who was named Player of the Tournament with an impressive performance of 64 runs and 10 wickets. Abhay Shetty from Team Popsicles earned the title of Best Batsman with 157 runs, while Rashid M Y M also took home the Best Bowler award with 10 wickets. Team Elite Warriors claimed victory in the women's finals, with Kirti Badole being named the Woman of the Match for her outstanding performance. With 46 teams, 425 participants, and a total of 47 matches, the tournament was a brilliant success. Kudos to all the participants and the organisers for making this event a fantastic showcase of the Ather spirit. When we share our experiences, we inspire future leaders. On the occasion of National Science Day, we had the pleasure of hosting the bright young minds from Mathakondapalli Model School CBSE at our vehicle factory in Hosur. The goal was to spark their interest in science and show them the magic of engineering behind our scooters. As part of their visit, the students observed our assembly lines. They got a first-hand view of how an Ather scooter comes together, from start to finish. They saw the precision and coordination involved in each step, from assembling individual components to quality checks and final assembly. They were fascinated by how every part of the process is meticulously planned and executed. The students also learned about essential safety practices on the shop floor which are crucial to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. At our DOJO training centre (dedicated training facility for factory team members), they understood how we build the skills needed for production on the line. They engaged in dexterity skill training exercises designed to improve hand-eye coordination, hand steadiness, and mental agility. We also explained our TAAS values - our core principles - to show them how important it is for everyone in an organisation to have common goals and work as a team. Understanding these values provided the students a meaningful insight into the organisational culture that propels Ather forward. At Ather, we are committed to mentoring the innovators of tomorrow. This month's TAAS Wall of Fame series features Kusmita Pukkalla, a dedicated Training Content Developer who truly embodies our core TAAS value of "Be Nice." At Ather, "Be Nice" means listening mindfully, trusting by default, and striving for excellence without compromising on empathy and respect. Although Kusmita is fairly new to this industry, her ability to adapt quickly and proactively approach challenges have been truly impressive. Early in her tenure, she took on the significant challenge of coordinating training for the retail partner workforce in collaboration with our sales trainers. Her exceptional dedication ensured that these training sessions were seamless. Nominated by Sekhar Jaswant, our Regional Training Lead - Sales, he notes how Kusmita made a notable impact on a major project by developing training content for the transition to a whole new software for our Retail partners. Despite having no prior experience working with these systems, Kusmita's collaboration skills and relentless pursuit of excellence shone through. As the single point of contact for our sales trainers across India, Kusmita has been instrumental in ensuring the efficient delivery of training programs. She handled all behind-the-scenes logistics with remarkable efficiency, demonstrating her strong commitment and work ethic. At Ather we always think as a species. This means we consider the bigger picture, especially when it comes to the environment and how we can positively impact it. In our recent "Auto For All" session, we focused on pollution norms in internal combustion engines (ICE) with Mohammed Athif, our Service Trainer in Talent Development. We talked about India's Bharat Stage Emission Standards (BSES) and their impact on the industry. This session helped us understand the major sources of air pollution and the technologies used to control it. A particularly important insight for us was realising that, while electric vehicles (EVs) like those we build at Ather can significantly reduce air pollution compared to petrol or diesel cars, they still contribute to pollution through brake and tyre wear, battery manufacturing and electricity generation. This understanding highlighted the importance of continuously innovating and improving every aspect of the EV lifecycle. *The purpose of "Auto For All" is to share essential industry knowledge with our team members. We believe that everyone at Ather should understand the technical aspects that drive our sector, regardless of their specific role or background. Why stick to just one language when India is home to so many? Our latest dashboard update, which now integrates Hindi, is just the beginning of our commitment to linguistic inclusivity. We have plans to roll out a multitude of regional languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Gujarati, in the coming days to make our scooters more accessible and user-friendly, regardless of one’s linguistic background. In a country as diverse as India, this is a significant step forward in bridging cultural and linguistic gaps, ensuring that we cater to the needs of all users and celebrate the pride people feel in their language. While this update marks a major milestone, it also came with its share of challenges. The process involved meticulous attention to detail to ensure that each language was carefully and respectfully incorporated, demanding an understanding of linguistic nuances and technical complexities. It required extensive collaboration across teams, creative problem-solving, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Sunitha Lal, our CHRO, recently had a fascinating session at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, discussing the topic 'Weaving Culture' with their new MBA-PGPX, IIM Ahmedabad batch. She spoke about the intricacies of creating a resilient organisational culture beyond buzzwords like 'disruption' and 'hustle' - focusing on Ather's unique journey. She tackled a range of curious questions about building a culture that can scale, emphasising the necessity of clear communication, shared values, and practices that evolve as the organisation grows. She also spoke about the importance of everyone's accountability in shaping the culture, not just that of the leadership. Quoting several impactful examples, she also shared some of our people practices for embedding these cultural values at every level of the organisation, ensuring that they resonate both widely and deeply.
