Speaker: Dr. Hannes Vogel, Stanford University Medical
Dr. Hannes Vogel brings extensive expertise in neuropathology with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. After completing his undergraduate studies at Rice University, he earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Following an initial residency in pediatrics, Dr. Vogel discovered his passion for pathology, completing his anatomic pathology training in Boston and subsequently pursuing a Neuropathology fellowship at Stanford University. For a decade, Dr. Vogel served as a leading pediatric neuropathologist at Texas Children's Hospital, where he established himself as an authority in developmental neuropathology. In 2002, he returned to Stanford University as Director of Neuropathology, a position he held with distinction for over 20 years. Dr. Vogel's research interests encompass several crucial areas of neuropathology, including groundbreaking studies on brain pathology related to anger and aggression. His expertise extends to brain tumors, muscle and nerve pathology, and developmental neuropathology. Currently, he continues to shape the future of the field as Director of the Stanford Neuropathology Fellowship Program. Throughout his career, Dr. Vogel has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing our understanding of neurological conditions, particularly in pediatric cases, while training the next generation of neuropathologists.
