?? Urgent Action Needed to Preserve Access to Virtual Prescribing ?? Today, more than 330 stakeholder organizations joined in co-signing letters to Congress and the White House, urging them to extend the remote prescribing flexibilities for controlled substances by two years. Without this extension, millions of patients could lose access to lifesaving care at the end of this year. “This is a predictable and preventable crisis that is looming come January 1 and we are quickly running out of time to save countless patients from being abandoned, left without lifesaving clinically appropriate care,” said Kyle Zebley, the ATA’s senior vice president, public policy, and executive director, ATA Action. ATA Action and the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) are calling on Congress and the Biden Administration to act swiftly to protect telehealth prescribing and ensure that vulnerable patients can continue receiving the care they need. Let’s work together to prevent a healthcare crisis! ???? #Telehealth #PatientCare #VirtualCare #ControlledSubstances #PolicyChange #HealthcareAccess Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eAhSEXTe

Urgent Call to Action for Medicare Telehealth Flexibilities The American Telemedicine Association and ATA Action have submitted detailed comments on the CY2025 Physician Fee Schedule, and urged the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to advocate for Congress to swiftly extend or make permanent the Medicare telehealth flexibilities. These flexibilities are crucial for maintaining access to safe, affordable, and appropriate care for millions of beneficiaries. Without Congressional action, we risk reverting to outdated restrictions that would severely hamper access to telehealth services. We urge Congress to act before the December 31 deadline to ensure continuity in telehealth care. Read more: https://lnkd.in/evyUPJhw #HealthcarePolicy #Medicare #Telehealth

The clock is ticking on telehealth access! In the Tea Leaves Reels (August 20th) from Third Horizon Strategies, hosted by David Smith, we dive into the looming healthcare cliff as Congress delays action on extending pandemic-era telehealth flexibilities. Our own Kyle Zebley was clear: "If Congress doesn’t take action prior to the end ofthe year to extend these pandemic-era telehealth Medicare flexibilities, we’re not going to just get dragged back to how telehealth looked in January of 2020; we’re going to get dragged back to 1997." This is a critical moment for the future of healthcare in America! Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services proposal in the CY2025 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) extends the flexibility allowing distant site practitioners to report their practice location instead of their home address through 2025. “We’re pleased to deliver on our promise – successfully addressing providers’ critical compliance and security concerns – and will continue to advocate to make this flexibility permanent, both in the final PFS as well as in the years ahead…” pledged Kyle Zebley. ?? https://lnkd.in/ejUk--EX
