AT-RISK Director of Threat Management Rick Parfitt, MA, PSP, CTM will present at this year’s International Protective Security Board Close Protection Conference on Integrating Close Protection and Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM). One of the most overlooked problems in security and threat management – is how to identify individuals who are potentially intent on violence. Understanding and applying the principles of behavioral threat assessment and management can help protection professionals identify individuals on a pathway to targeted violence. Everyone involved in violence prevention must understand warning behaviors and assess the potential for violence, examine risk factors, and use various intervention tools, including mitigating factors, to intervene and prevent violence.
