We provide advocacy, community empowerment, and legal services to refugees ??. Proudly refugee-led
关于我们
Most of the world’s refugees spend decades or generations confined in camps, prohibited from working, or otherwise prevented from rebuilding their lives. Asylum Access was founded to change this. We are an international nonprofit founded to make refugee rights a reality in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Our advocates help refugees access their fundamental rights to safety, employment, education, and protection. Asylum Access believe all refugees deserve a fair chance at a new life. All over the world, we challenge barriers that keep refugees from living safely, moving freely, working and attending school – because when refugees can rebuild their lives, nations thrive. Asylum Access is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, USA.

Leonor is a courageous mother who decided to leave her home in El Salvador, along with her husband, daughter, sister, and brother-in-law. Constant threats, extortion, and harassment by the MS13 gang left them with little choice but to flee in search of safety. Together, they sought refuge in #Mexico, hoping for a life free from the violence they had endured. Arriving in Mexico in 2019, Leonor and her family quickly realized that building a stable life would require navigating complex legal pathways to reunite with their family. Through Asylum Access México's (AAMX) support, Leonor’s husband was able to initiate the family reunification process, determined to bring their two daughters and granddaughters to safety. The journey was far from easy. Over a year and a half, Leonor’s family faced numerous bureaucratic challenges, but AAMX was there every step of the way, providing essential legal representation, document support, and guidance. Leonor recalls how many individuals attempted the process without adequate support, often feeling lost within the system. “Without Asylum Access Mexico, we would never have managed to reunite our family safely and effectively,” she said. Today, Leonor and her family have settled where they feel both secure and fully integrated into their new community. Their story is a powerful testament to the resilience of families who seek a future without fear, and it highlights the vital role that organizations like AAMX play in helping families establish lives of dignity and stability. #SupportAsylumAccess here: https://lnkd.in/g7x8DXug #ForcedDisplacement #AsylumAccess #Donate #Charity #Nonprofit

For Elias, being himself was dangerous. Growing up as a gay man in his hometown, he lived in constant fear. In a place where being openly LGBTQ+ was met with violence, Elias had to carefully conceal his identity. When his orientation was discovered, he suffered physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and was subjected to conversion therapy. Living in silence and isolation, Elias endured until he reached a breaking point. Knowing he had to leave to survive, he sought a way out. Elias escaped to Malaysia, hoping it would be a refuge. However, he remained afraid as his sexuality was still considered taboo and could put him at risk. Also, as someone seeking asylum, he faced life without legal status, living on the margins of society, with limited access to work, healthcare, and basic rights, as well as the constant fear of being detained and deported. While he found safety from immediate persecution, he still faced an uncertain future, struggling for the chance to live in safety. This is where Asylum Access made a difference. We provided him with access to documentation that protected him from deportation and linked him to another organization that offers support for victims of sexual and gender-based violence. By standing with Asylum Access, you stand with Elias and countless others who deserve a life without fear.
