The?Power Systems Analyst?will provide technical expertise, project management, personnel management, and partner engagement in support of the Laboratory for Energy And Power Solutions (LEAPS) to accelerate low-carbon energy transitions domestically and in emerging markets globally https://leaps.asu.edu. LEAPS is within Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and located at the Polytechnic campus, with collaborators and partnerships across the US and globally. The 40-person team is led by Dr. Nathan Johnson with a focus on translating use-inspired research into practical solutions for technology deployment, new policy and business models, and workforce development. The team has a broad set of subject matter expertise and life experiences, and thrives on finding creative solutions to challenging problems that often involves finding synergies across partners, perspectives, and goals. We are excited to release information on 75 remote off-grid sites in Fiji that have undergone community engagement, site assessment, and technical and financial analysis with plans leading to tender and construction in the next couple years. ??Giraffe Bioenergy - A venture in residence at Delta40 Studio receives a $50,000 grant from the AmpUp consortium! Giraffe Bioenergy - A venture in residence at Delta40 Studio , a company establishing rural bioeconomies in Kenya through large-scale cassava farming and local manufacturing of ethanol, received a USD 50,000 grant from the AmpUp consortium, a partnership through USAID that includes Factor[e] Ventures, Power Africa, and Arizona State University. As a component of the grant, Giraffe Bioenergy - A venture in residence at Delta40 Studio will share its expertise with Factor[e] Ventures and Arizona State University while receiving technical support from both organizations to scale up manufacturing facilities capable of producing up to 75 million liters of ethanol cooking fuel per year. This sizable increase in production can help reduce reliance on wood and charcoal for cooking and increase local production and use of ethanol, over 95% of which is currently imported across Kenya. Giraffe Bioenergy - A venture in residence at Delta40 Studio aims to support smallholder farmers, most of whom are women, by increasing incomes in farming communities while decreasing reliance on pollutants across the country.
