I had a great day at the ASUG - Americas' SAP Users' Group - Central Texas meeting on Friday, hosted at Texas State University. It was great connecting with partners and SAP customers. Many thanks to Dana Knox and ASUG and Texas State for hosting. We attended sessions on implementation best practices and partners demonstrated their innovative new tools. Then we took a little time to improve our skills outside of SAP.
The highlight for me were the sessions led by Absolutely Abby covering networking, interview skills, and how to use LinkedIn. ASUG opened the sessions to the students at TXST to attend and many were in the audience – including my Son, Davis Rhame. It was awesome to see these aspiring students paying attention, engaging, participating, and asking questions. Really just giving them the opportunity to interact with the executives present. Let’s face it, at their ages, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do in my career, and I would bet that there were some in the crowd today facing the same questions. I am optimistic that the students in attendance learned something today that may help them on them on their journey. As the father of 2 college students, any time I get to spend with my kids is a great day.
Thanks again ASUG and Texas State for their unique approach to this meeting.
If anyone has an opportunity for an enthusiastic intern, Davis is majoring in Finance and is finishing his Jr. Year.
