This week we welcomed a group of higher education leaders from across Japan, Korea, and Singapore to dive deep into what has enabled Arizona State University’s growth and success, and how the collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) supports that journey. Some observations: ?? Education leaders are at the table with a fierce commitment to enabling the conditions so students, faculty, and staff have a collaborative environment. ?? The end goal isn’t just a diploma. It’s to create well rounded citizens that postitively contribute and are job-ready. Using technology to achieve that end is a universal mental model. ?? Artificial intelligence is being used by students. Period. As leaders in innovation we need to create the conditions to enhance learning and job readiness. From AI as a “brainstorming buddy” or a “digital teachers assistant” that can be called on at 2:00 AM when a question arises—we’re seeing an iterative approach to rolling out solutions. We partnered with the ISDA - International Swaps and Derivatives Association to automate the extraction and classification of clauses from the ISDA Credit Support Annex (CSA). Key Highlights: ?? AI-Powered Automation: Developed a Proof of Concept (PoC) to convert legacy legal documents into a structured JSON format, reducing manual labor and increasing accuracy. ?? Industry Impact: Enhances decision-making processes in the derivatives market and has potential applications across various industries where legal document processing is crucial. ?? Last week we welcomed 16 technology leaders from 10 higher education institutions from across EMEA to participate in our Executive Innovation Visit program. Some thoughts... ?? These student workers brought their skills, perspectives, and determination to develop a cutting-edge approach. Key Highlights: ?? We partnered with Kelvyn Park Junior and Senior High School to address a critical need: breaking down language barriers to improve parent involvement in schools. Together, we developed "mAIn" Office," a multilingual chatbot named Luisa, designed to provide real-time, accessible information to families in both English and Spanish. Key Highlights: ?? Dynamic and Static Content: "mAIn Office" uses content from weekly newsletters, the school website, handbooks, and more to keep parents informed?? ?? Bridging Communication Gaps: Empowers parents to stay engaged and informed. ?? Student-Led Innovation: Our students and AWS experts played a crucial role in the project. ??
