? Announcing the Inaugural Zoom Fellowship at Arizona State University! As part of our?partnership?to advance?innovation in education between?Technology at Arizona State University and Zoom, we?are thrilled to announce the inaugural Zoom Fellows at Arizona State University! Please join us in welcoming Liam Wirth and Neha Kashyap, the first fellows in this groundbreaking program. With expertise in user research and UX, digital storytelling, and software development, they will play a key role in supporting and advancing the?partnership. This fellowship is part of a visionary five-year partnership between Zoom and ASU, which has already achieved incredible milestones, including: - Launching a?Zoom?Innovation Lab to explore the future of communication technologies in education?supported by ASU Learning Experience - Hosting?Spark Challenges (hackathons designed by Olivia Herneddo, MFA), where students design and create the campus of the future. - Developing actual code to explore the possibilities of Zoom in the metaverse?through work with ASU Next Lab. The fellowship will span one year, with plans to expand to four fellows in the near future. Together, Liam and Neha will help shape the future of education by imagining and creating cutting-edge tools and solutions that redefine how we connect and learn. This week, ASU Next Lab participated in the Immersive Innovation Summit at Arizona State University —a gathering of over 150 experts, leaders, and visionaries in the fields of AI, VR, and immersive technologies. It was an incredible opportunity to showcase the work our studio associates have been leading, blending emerging technology with real-world impact. At Next Lab, we highlighted our recent advancements in AI-driven user personas and VR simulations—projects designed to push boundaries in education. The event also celebrated the incredible depth of innovation across ASU’s ecosystem, including Meteor Studio at ASU, Interplanetary Initiative at Arizona State University Split Studio, Dreamscape Learn and the Center for Education through Exploration. It’s inspiring to be part of a university that not only invests in future technologies but also fosters collaboration and creativity across disciplines. The future of AI, VR, and immersive experiences is being shaped right here at ASU, and we are honored to contribute to this shared vision. Empowering Students and Communities ?? - Hosted global workshops for the QS ImpACT Skills Challenge, providing training to over 1,000 participants worldwide in game design. - Celebrated the graduation of our talented student associates who contributed to groundbreaking projects, including Digital Twins and AI. - Supported immersive learning through collaborations with Meta for Education, and with universities like UADE (Argentina), Hoseo University (South Korea), and An Najah National University (Palestine), and our Afghan scholars program. ?? Pioneering Innovation and Collaboration ?? - Advanced Digital Twin projects for cities like City of Surprise and Maricopa County. - Explored Virtual Reality with Mirabella at ASU residents, creating opportunities for intergenerational learning. - Collaborated with NVIDIA, Unity, EngageVR, Zoom, and Verizon to explore new frontiers in immersive and edge technologies. - Joined forces with QS ImpACT, University of Exeter, and other global institutions to foster innovation through the QS ImpACT Challenge. - Awarded the winners of the inaugural QS ImpACT skill challenge to Iqra University (Official) (Pakistan) ?? Fostering Creativity and Skill Development ?? - Launched 'FutureScape,' a Career Explorer mini-game to spark interest in STEAM careers among younger audiences. - Empowered students worldwide with Unity and VR workshops hosted on our inclusive Discord community. Just 1yr ago we imagined a global skills hackathon that provided an opportunity to learn and practice new skills whilst learning about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Fast forward to today and here we are celebrating the winners of the inaugural QS ImpACT Skill Challenge at the QEII conference Center in London. Huge praise to over 1000+ participants from all over the world who participated and committed their time to resolving the worlds biggest challenges. We all win when we take the future in our hands but today TeamIqra from Iqra University (IU), Pakistan take the prize with a game called SDG Metropolis.
