The ASU AI Journey Report highlights some fantastic initiatives around AI in teaching, learning, and research. While it’s great to see so much groundbreaking work showcased, I want to give a special shout-out to the ASU Learning Experience Design team at Technology at Arizona State University, an operational unit that has been a driving force behind many of these efforts.
Over the past year, we’ve been at the forefront of ASU’s AI journey:
? Hosting 50+ AI workshops for teaching and learning with thousands of participants learning how to incorporate AI into their practices
? Building shared curricular resources focused on the creative and ethical uses of AI for ASU courses across various modalities
? Supporting every AI Community of Practice event, from logistics to facilitation
? Collaboratively co-designing the AI Innovation Challenge plus piloting AI tools to discover best practices and use cases for the enterprise
? Working on internal AI innovation projects for student impact—like using AI with our awesome student employees to build identity-based creative projects and translating those outputs into immersive reality experiences via Adobe creative tools
? Supporting, collaborating, and co-researching with many of the featured faculty on AI integration
? Contributing to the AI Digital Trust guidelines and various university groups working on AI research, guidance, and information sharing
? Contributing to the Generative AI course for faculty and staff with a large community of ASU experts
? Hosting AI hackathons and specialty engagement programs in the Tech Hub at the Creativity Commons
? Innovating with game-based learning (Dungeons & Dragons style!) to teach AI literacy
? Offering open office hours and one-on-one consultations on AI integration in courses and teaching practices
