ASSP is a global association for occupational safety and health professionals. January is National Radon Awareness Month, a time when the?U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)?encourages people to test their homes for radon. Why is January Radon Action Month important? Radon is a health risk. Radon is a radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer, especially for people who have never smoked. Winter is a good time to test Radon levels are usually highest in the winter, so testing your home during this time can help you identify radon exposure. Radon is invisible Radon is a gas that you can't see, smell, or taste, so it's important to test your home to identify radon exposure. The Bikes for Tykes event hosted by Seagate Development Group was a huge success! Over 100 bikes built in 2 hours. Everyone came together and was amazing at working together to get it all done. Our chapter provided the hot chocolate/coffee station to keep everyone going. Thank you to everyone who showed up and worked so hard!

Member request: Who does your company use for First Aid, Occ Med care in our local area? Are you happy with them, and do they know the ins and outs of OSHA recordable injuries? There is a consensus that there are few clinics and medical professionals who offer services for the gap between a small employee complaint and urgent care. We are thinking about making a technical meeting out of this and encouraging local medical professionals to attend in order to hear the safety pro’s side of the story.
