#WorkforceWednesdays ?? Did you know that 93% of Americans have experienced anxiety about job interviews? Interviews are one of the most nerve-wracking parts of the job search. But the benefits don’t stop there—businesses that engage in mock interviews see positive impacts too: ? Talent Pipeline: Partnering with local schools and colleges helps identify and guide potential future employees. ? Community Impact: Investing in young learners strengthens your company’s reputation and commitment to workforce development. ? Employee Growth: Conducting mock interviews builds communication skills and confidence within your own team. ?? Want to get involved? Career centers are actively seeking employers to conduct mock interviews with students working on career readiness skills. Sometimes, a simple practice interview can even lead to a future hire! The catalytic leader and unifying voice for economic prosperity throughout Washington state.
关于我们
Formed in 1904, the Association of Washington Business is Washington’s oldest and largest statewide business association, and includes more than 8,000 members representing 700,000 employees. AWB serves as both the state’s chamber of commerce & the manufacturing and technology association, and is one of two chambers in the country accredited with distinction by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. While its membership includes major employers like Boeing, Microsoft and Weyerhaeuser, 92 percent of AWB members employ fewer than 100 people. More than half of AWB’s members employ fewer than 10. AWB has built a solid record of success in the legislative and regulatory arenas. Achievements include regulatory reform, tax incentives and reductions that help attract — and retain — business in WA state, and policy changes that encourage state agencies to become more efficient and customer-friendly. By working together with our members, AWB promotes an economic climate in which business & citizens are successful. AWB serves as the voice of WA employers, representing them in the legislative and regulatory decision making process. A large and diverse array of AWB members serve on the issue councils & committees that guide the association and set its policy goals. Over the years, the AWB membership has become one of the most effective and respected grassroots forces in the state. When the governor, Legislature, and state seek the input of business on policy matters, they turn to AWB.

AWB has been working closely with lawmakers on an important fix to Washington's pay transparency law. Since 2023, more than 200 employers have been sued for allegedly failing to include a salary range in job postings. Senate Bill 5408 would allow time for employers to correct allegedly deficient job postings -- including those posted by third party companies that the employer has no control over. As AWB testified, employers want to post salary information because it increases trust in job applicants and their current employees. SB 5408 maintains pay transparency while helping stem the tide of costly and frivolous lawsuits. #waleg https://lnkd.in/dUiadF7W
