For the third consecutive year, the ATAP South Central Chapter partnered with the Walmart Threat Management Team to host a half day training event, “From Grief to Grievance: Life, Loss, Love, and Lessons Learned,” in Bentonville, AR. Over 400 were in attendance online and in-person to hear powerful and passionate presentations on the intersection of grief and threat assessment and management. Thanks to Chapter President, Matt Talbot PhD, LCSW, CCFC, CFMHE, CTM, Nancy Kelley, Ed.D., and Chin Rodger for three compelling and poignant talks. With empathy and compassion, we are positioned to be more effective in helping those who may view violence as the only identifiable solution to ease their internal anguish and longing for connection. Unfortunately today the country watched live as another act of targeted violence was committed. ?The Association of Threat Professionals and its members work tirelessly to prevent and defend against this very thing. ?Our mission is to do all we can to safeguard all human lives. Our thoughts are with those who were affected by today’s incident. A huge thank you to our first responders to include the United States Secret Service who ensured it was not worse. ?The time to unite against violence as an answer is now. ?Together we end violence Dave Okada ATAP President

The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) South Central Chapter is pleased to welcome Ashlee Heavrin and Chapter President, Matt Talbot PhD, CTM, who will be sharing a poignant, complex case study as they managed for the Kroger Behavioral Risk Intervention Team (BRIT). This event is less than one month away, and a limited number of spaces remain for in-person attendance which includes a provided lunch. Virtual attendance is also offered. As a disclaimer, the presenters wish to note that this case will also be featured on Day 1 at the ATAP Threat Management Conference in Anaheim, CA so should you prefer to attend in-person at that time vs. online in July and recommend the in-person attendance if an option. #threat #management #threatassessment #violenceprevention #future #leadership #networking #connection Register: https://lnkd.in/gKXCHdeM
