The 300-plus-page hardcover book is the culmination of more than a decade of research by the ASDSO Dam Failures and Incidents Committee. It includes more than 100 case studies spanning from the 1800s to 2020 and a comprehensive review of the aspects and processes of how and why dam failures and incidents occur. Students - now is the time to submit your entry for the ASDSO Student Paper Competition. The Student Paper Competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees at U.S. universities or colleges. Topics may include traditional areas of design engineering, structural and geotechnical analysis, hydrology, hydraulics, construction, risk management and hazard mitigation, emergency action planning, dam security, and policy. In addition, case studies, emerging and innovative technologies, and senior capstone projects are encouraged. Each winning paper will receive a ??$2,000 prize and a ??travel stipend (up to $1,000) to attend the Dam Safety Conference. Plus, winning papers will be included in the conference agenda! ??
