Getting ready for our spring accreditation visits by prepping some treat bags for the amazing volunteers who staff our Visiting Teams! Accreditation relies on the hard work and expertise of faculty, staff, and administrators from across the AISNE membership to come together to support an accredited school’s journey of continuous improvement. Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who step up to play this role every year!

I love that people are reaching out and sharing enthusiasm regarding the fact that Scott Clemons is returning for AISNE's 2025 Business and Operations Conference! He is an excellent presenter on Zoom and even better in person! Detailed agenda: https://lnkd.in/eHHJ8ikJ Register here: https://lnkd.in/de9szZYZ "Scott Clemons is the kind of speaker you don't forget. He has a rare ability to make complex economic data accessible and even compelling. His session helped me connect the dots between national trends and what we're seeing in our own enrollment and budgeting conversations." — CFO, Massachusetts "Scott delivered the most engaging economic update I’ve ever attended. He blends clarity, humor, and deep knowledge in a way that leaves you feeling informed and empowered. I walked away with real strategies for how to talk to our board about what’s coming next." — Head of School, Rhode Island "Scott’s macroeconomic overview was eye-opening. His ability to contextualize inflation, demographic shifts, and global trends within the world of independent schools was incredibly valuable. I immediately shared his insights with my leadership team." — COO, Connecticut "Scott brings a powerful mix of intellect, warmth, and clarity. He helped me better understand the pressures families are feeling and what that means for our tuition strategy. I’m looking forward to learning from him again this year." — Director of Finance, Maine "His session wasn’t just informative—it was inspiring. Scott offers both a wide-angle view of the economic landscape and a grounded, strategic lens for school leaders. This is a must-attend session." — Board Chair, New Hampshire

Thanks for joining us, Wellan Montessori School! We’re excited to see how you put your learning into practice as you support students’ identity development and foster belonging.
Last week, members of our faculty and staff attended Building Inclusive Communities through Identity and Affinity at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, hosted by the Association of Independent Schools in New England. Led by the insightful Rosetta Eun Ryong Lee, the sessions challenged us to reflect on our own identities, explore how identity development shapes student experiences, and learn best practices for creating successful affinity groups that foster belonging and student agency. We left inspired by the discussions, energized by new connections, and excited to apply what we learned. Creating spaces where every student feels seen, heard, and valued is essential. We’re grateful for opportunities like this to grow as educators and continue building a community rooted in belonging. #Wellan #WellanMontessori #InclusiveEducation #IdentityAndBelonging #AISNE #ProfessionalDevelopment #AffinityGroup

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health recently announced proposed changes to its regulations, specifically those regarding the administration of medications in schools. If passed, these regulations, which present several potential concerns, will apply to all K – 12 schools. In response to an invitation for public comment, AISNE joined a coalition of organizations representing hundreds of schools requesting more robust dialogue regarding the impact of these proposed changes prior to approval. Thank you to our partner organizations representing K – 12 schools in the Commonwealth to advocate for safe and healthy schools: MAAPS (Massachusetts Association of Approved Private Special Education Schools), Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (MASS), Massachusetts Organization of Educational Collaboratives (MOEC), and The Massachusetts Administrators for Special Education (ASE). Thank you for joining us, The Wheeler School! Your support of AISNE’s student conferences spans many years and we’re so proud to be a partner in your students’ learning experiences!
A group of Wheeler Middle School students and faculty recently attended the AISNE (Association of Independent Schools in New England) Middle School Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference. They participated in a range of workshops and affinity groups connected to this year’s theme, “When you become yourself, you find a place of belonging." As 6th-Grade Teacher and Middle School Equity, Community, and Belonging Coordinator Philip Hall shares, the conference’s meaningful experiences didn’t end there: “The kids know that part of their job is to bring their learning back to their lives at Wheeler and in the world!”

Thank you for joining us, Beacon Academy Boston! We’re so glad your students enjoyed a meaningful learning experience!
Ten students and two chaperones from Beacon Academy attended the Association of Independent Schools in New England Diversity Equity and Inclusion Student Conference at Regis College. This event focuses on middle school students of color at independent schools and has created connections, celebrations, and leadership opportunities for over 30 years. Students participated in various workshops and activities, such as exploring identity through food, understanding Islamophobia in New England, and engaging in interactive hip-hop. They learned a lot and built friendships with each other and with students from other independent schools.

Thank you, Carroll School, for serving as AISNE’s lead school for this year’s Middle School Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference. Osamagbe Osagie’s many months of collaboration with Student Conference Coordinator, Ray Cross, and the generosity of so many Carroll volunteers made the day a huge success for our students!
This past Saturday, Carroll School was proud to be the lead school for the Association of Independent Schools in New England Middle School Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Conference at Regis College! With over 400 students and chaperones from local independent schools, the day was filled with powerful conversations, learning, and connection. 🌟 The conference featured incredible keynote speakers—Rosetta Eun Ryong Lee and Dzidzor Azaglo—along with 20+ student workshops and multiple affinity groups that created space for meaningful dialogue. Carroll was well represented with 40+ students in attendance, engaging in and leading the important work of DEI. 🙌🏽Huge shoutout to Osamagbe Osagie, Carroll’s Director of Equity and Inclusion, for organizing this impactful event, Renée Greenfield, Carroll’s Head of Schhol, and to the countless volunteers from Carroll and beyond who dedicated their Saturday to making it happen.
