ADO is a membership organization for development professionals at all experience and skill levels, as well as those who work with and support them: executive directors, board members, volunteers, consultants, and business professionals. Our membership comprises 130+ nonprofits, plus business supporters. We host monthly fundraising-focused educational events Sept-May, and offer virtual members-only programming during the summer. Events are open to everyone, but we do hope you will join ADO our community of professionals who share knowledge and ideas, learn from and help each other, and collaborate! We offer a rare all-inclusive membership so once you sign up, there aren't any additional fees to participate in our educational programming! We also host the annual Philanthropy Awards Breakfast in March every year. Hands-down, the most uplifting event you will attend. And, the speeches are short! CONGRATULATIONS to Alison Paul, who has been our excellent and talented Grant Writer and development consultant since 2011, and has secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants for Furniture Sharehouse over the years. Alison was honored with the Peter J. Gallagher Award for Leadership and Service by the Association of Development Officials at their 2025 Philanthropy Breakfast on March 12th. In addition to celebrating and honoring Alison, I was able to catch up with so many Furniture Sharehouse BFFs who were also in attendance. It was a wonderful celebration of hard work and amazing accomplishments by all the honorees, their grant-writers and the organizations they work with. Each honoree has shown exceptional dedication to improving the lives of others — whether through fundraising, volunteerism, or leadership. Their work reminds us of the power of giving back and the strength of working together.
