AACMI is the leading authoritative voice of corporate governance, corporate compliance, and robust internal whistleblower policies. We are a non-profit association of audit committee members dedicated to strengthening the audit committee by developing national best practices. We are the only independent organization devoted exclusively to improving audit committee oversight and are not affiliated with any accounting firm, thereby permitting us to impartial advice on relations with the independent auditor. The AACMI promotes the professional interests of individuals who serve as members of audit committees by: - developing and disseminating information of interest to audit committee members on a real-time basis - providing educational materials and initiatives to enhance the understanding of the duties and responsibilities of audit committee members - recommending policies and procedures which permit audit committee members to fulfill their duties and responsibilities and to protect themselves from personal liability - assisting members to obtain second opinions on difficult accounting and legal issues - fostering the development of "best practices" by facilitating the exchange of information among audit committee members and through educational materials and initiatives.
