Big Impact, Small Investment: The Power of Assistive Technology Act Programs! Did you know that for the past 10 years, every $1 invested in Assistive Technology Act Programs saw a return of $2.22 in savings and benefits?!?That’s a 122% return on investment—all while empowering millions of people with disabilities and older adults! From 2013 to 2023, federal funding of $305M helped serve 6.7 million people, increasing access to life-changing assistive technology. And it doesn’t stop there—an additional $256M was leveraged from outside partnerships to further expand these critical resources. With the 2022 reauthorization of the AT Act, we’re just getting started. Let’s keep advocating for sustainable funding and greater access to assistive technology for all who need it! The Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP) is a national, member-based non-profit organization, comprised of state Assistive Technology Act Programs funded under the Assistive Technology Act (AT Act). ATAP facilitates the coordination of state AT Programs nationally and provides technical assistance and support to its members. Established in 1997, the organization strives to enhance the effectiveness of AT Programs on the national, state, and local level. ATAP promotes the national network of AT Programs, represents the needs and interests of the programs, and serves as the national representative of state AT programs.

The Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP), a national voice for the Assistive Technology Act and Assistive Technology (AT) programs, announces the selection of Jeannie Krull, MS/CCC-SLP, ATP, CAPS as the new executive director, succeeding Audrey Busch. Currently, Ms. Krull is the Assistant Executive Director for North Dakota Assistive and the North Dakota AT Act Program director. She is also past Chair of the Board of ATAP and a 2019 Bush Foundation Fellow. She currently sits on the USAging/ACL Commit to Connect Advisory Committee and the USAging Family Caregiver Services and Supports SDOH Workgroup. Ms. Krull spent the first part of her career working as a speech pathologist, specializing in many areas and working in multiple settings, including clinics, schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. "We are excited to welcome Jeannie Krull as the new executive director," said Audrey Busch, Jeannie is a recognized leader and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position. We know she will work tirelessly to ensure the organization's continued success. The entire ATAP team looks forward to working with her to advance the mission of ATAP.†Ms. Krull will officially start this role in January 2025.
