关于我们
ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery, is the world's largest educational and scientific computing society, uniting educators, researchers and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field's challenges. As a leading global source for scientific information, ACM promotes computer research and innovation through its journals, magazines, and the proceedings of more than 170 annual conferences and symposia. ACM authors are among the world's leading thinkers in computing and information technologies, providing original research and firsthand perspectives. Founded at the dawn of the computer age, ACM’s reach extends to every part of the globe, with more than half of its more than 100,000 members residing outside the U.S. Its growing membership has led to Councils in Europe, India, and China, fostering networking opportunities that strengthen ties within and across countries and technical communities. Their actions enhance ACM’s ability to raise awareness of computing’s important technical, educational, and social issues around the world.

In the latest ACM ByteCast, Bruke Kifle hosts ACM and IEEE Fellow Xin Luna Dong, Principal Scientist at Meta Reality Labs. Dong has been a leader in ML applications, working on intelligent personal assistants, search, recommendation, and personalization. In this episode, she recounts her early journey in computing, including how she became interested in knowledge graphs. Dong also talks about how knowledge graphs can enhance large language models (LLM's). She concludes by emphasizing the importance of making information access effortless, especially for non-technical users such as small business owners. Check my recent Communications of the ACM, Association for Computing Machinery (#CACM) opinion paper titled "The 5th Paradigm: AI-Driven Scientific Discovery". It contemplates on the significance for Computing and AI of having The Nobel Prize citations for this year's winners in two fields, #Physics and #Chemistry, referring to work that is based on AI. Dancing together for quite some time now, #AI and #Science have given some amazing, Nobel-prize-worthy results and promise even more breakthroughs in the future that cannot be achieved otherwise! ACM, Association for Computing Machinery is establishing strategic collaborations and is pushing towards serving AI/Computing-based interdisciplinary areas. Repeating the ending of my opinion article, "We [Computing and AI researchers] should join our fellow researchers in other sciences and harness the power that modern Computing and AI technologies offer to understand the secrets of nature. In parallel, we should join forces with policymakers, governments, and civil society to ensure that our discoveries will be used responsibly for the benefit of all." https://lnkd.in/ddyEFTiF #NobelPrize #AI #Computing #Science #Physics #Chemistry #interdisciplinary AI for Good
