The Associates celebrated the last night of our 150 Years of Koussevitzky series, in collaboration with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Public Library, with a packed house in Rabb Hall! ?? The audience was incredibly engaged, listening to CRB's Brian McCreath and BSO Principal Bass, Ed Barker’s master class on Koussevitzky’s origins as a double bass virtuoso and impresario. We enjoyed Barker and pianist Debbie Emery's performance of selections from Koussevitzky’s legendary 1929 Boston recital. Subscribe to our YouTube channel for the condensed event recording. Happy Native American Heritage Month from the Associates! This month celebrates the rich history, culture, traditions, and significant contributions of Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and First Nations people. This 1971 photo by Spencer Grant from the Boston Public Library Spencer Grant Collection shows Native American advocate Russell Charles Means at a press conference at Boston University. Russell was an Oglala Lakota activist for Native Americans' rights. He became a prominent member of the American Indian Movement after joining in 1968 and helped organize events that attracted national and international media coverage.

Happy Diwali! ?? Diwali, is one of the major religious festivals in Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism, and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness. Enjoy this early 20th-century travel poster from the Boston Public Library's Arts Department. This travel poster depicts Bodh Gayā, a religious site and place of pilgrimage in Bihar. It is famous for being the place where Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment under what became known as the Bodhi Tree. Bodh Gayā has remained a place of pilgrimage and veneration, for both Hindus and Buddhists.
