Stop! Don't give out your real email when signing up for a new service on the internet, trying to redeem a special offer or doing anything else on online. Who says you have to give out your actual address? Use a burner email address instead for more privacy & security. It's also known as email masking and I wrote about it for The Associated Press One Tech Tip this week. Try it out and let me know what you think! https://lnkd.in/gHu9yuQe

Inflation picked up last month and consumers barely raised their spending, signs that the economy was already cooling even before most tariffs were imposed. Core inflation -- prices excluding the volatile food and energy categories -- increased 2.8% in February compared with a year earlier, up from 2.6% the previous month. Meanwhile, consumer spending rose 0.4% in February from the previous month -- but only 0.1% adjusted for inflation. The small increase comes after a sharp drop in January and suggests consumer spending slowed sharply in the first three months of the year. “Inflation too hot and spending too cold,” said Stephen Brown, an economist at Capital Economics, in an email. “The Fed is unlikely to cut interest rates this year.” https://lnkd.in/erpdZVBm
