He suggested that tunnel construction in India—whether for roads, metros, or railways—must prioritize adopting appropriate technologies that are both effective and economical. He further acknowledged #ASSOCHAM's contribution in facilitating discussions on the Zojila Tunnel project which he credited with helping save significant costs. The Influencer Challenge I did this keynote at the ASSOCHAM event. I covered physical influencers and not virtual influencers, a trend that's picking up. I covered the way advertising has developed from the product era, to the image era, to testimonials, to source of authority and to changes in media with digital. I put global data and India data in the PPT. 1. India has 4 million influencers. Everyone with a phone and a few followers is an influencer now. Just consider the ratio. India has 660 million smartphones and we have 4 million influencers. So we have 165 smart phone people per influencer! 2. The influencer market in India is about Rs 2800 crs now and expected to be Rs 3375 crs in 2026. For 4 million influencers ,that is an average earning of Rs 7000 per annum !! 3. The global influencer market is $ 32.5 Billion and growing strong double digit. 4. 41 % of brands spend more than 30 % of their marketing budget on influencers. 5. Instagram has the maximum followers in India - 362 million. 6. Regulation will kick in, we already see influencers being regulated, its a matter of time.
