At Assisted Student Transportation, we are proud to highlight the incredible journey of Scott Florez, our Vice President of Operations, who has been with us for an impressive 32 years! Scott first joined the company in 1993 after graduating from the University of Kansas, starting as a part-time supervisor in our homecare program for the elderly and disabled. Back then, Assisted began as a staffing agency in Topeka, KS. After completing his MBA from Baker University,?his dedication and leadership with the company quickly earned him a full-time role, leading to a remarkable career path that included positions in Client Services, Human Resources, and Operations before stepping into his current leadership role.? Throughout the years, Scott has played a key role in growing our company and building a strong, dedicated team. One of his proudest achievements? Securing our first major student transportation contract with the Olathe School District, helping us establish ourselves in the industry. When asked what he enjoys most about his role, he shared:? "Ensuring that kids get picked up on time, safely transported to school, and ready to learn. It all starts with having the right people and creating an environment built on teamwork, communication, and a shared commitment to helping students."? Outside of work, he enjoys watching his daughters play sports with his wife and hitting the golf course whenever he can. And his favorite movie? Forrest Gump! It was during COVID-19, even though schools were closed and there were no in-person classes, our districts relied on Assisted/All Point to deliver food and homework to students while schools were shut down. Once schools reopened, one of our school districts asked us to take on an additional 75-100 yellow bus students that their bus company could not serve. This was on top of the students we were already contracted to transport. It was a significant challenge, but we made it happen! **What are some hobbies or interests you have outside of work? I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and family, playing sports, and practicing photography. **Favorite movie?
