As 2024 closes, a final note from Anti-Seismic Systems International Society, Inc. to acknowledge our?Institutional Members. This year we were fortunate to strengthen existing connections and also develop new relationships with important international partners in the seismic protective technologies field. ASSISi established a Memorandum of Understanding with the Japan Society for Seismic Isolation (JSSI) to define closer collaborations between our societies, and ASSISi President Ian Aiken visited JSSI’s office in Tokyo in October for the signing, with JSSI Executive Director Yoshihisa Kitamura, former Executive Director and JSSI Fellow Nagahide Kani, and Mariko Kono (not shown, JSSI President Akinobu Nakazawa). See more about JSSI here: https://en.jssi.or.jp/en/ EUCENTRE has recently become an ASSISi Institutional Member, and we are excited to deepen our relationship in 2025 with this premier international organization. https://lnkd.in/d9cMWEjg Also in October, Ian Aiken and ASSISi Secretary-General Bahad?r ?adan met with Associazione ISI - Ingegneria Sismica Italiana / Italian Seismic Engineering Association at SAIE in Bologna, Italy, to continue discussions first started at WCEE2024 in Milan about establishing a working relationship between our organizations. Thanks to ISI President Andrea Barocci, ISI Director Davide Trutalli and ISI Board Member Paolo Segala for a very fruitful connection which we look forward to affirming in 2025. https://lnkd.in/gagseKXM Earlier in 2024 Sismica-GLIS became an ASSISi Institutional Member. We are pleased to re-open this connection with the Italian successor of GLIS, Gruppo di Lavoro Isolamento Sismico,?in some respects, thanks to Alessandro Martelli and others, the spiritual predecessor of ASSISi. We look forward to further interactions with Gloria Terenzi, the Convenor of Sismica-GLIS and to hear more about activities such as their successful seminar held in April 2024: https://lnkd.in/gJZp4yVu Last, but by no means least, a shout-out to ASSISi Institutional Member Deprem ?zolasyon Derne?i / Turkish Association for Seismic Isolation and our many colleagues in Turkiye, including ASSISi Secretary-General Bahadir Sadan, ASSISi Director Fatih Sutcu, ASSISi Regional Coordinator Mehmet Emre ?zcanl? and ASSISi Members Cuneyt Tuzun and OZAN PINAR, who along with many others have continued to work hard to promote awareness of seismic protective systems throughout Turkiye to make their cities and communities safer. We look forward to continuing to work together with everyone in 2025 to further our common goals.
