Germany's Office for Logistics and Mobility has recently carried out a pilot project for the full implementation of tachograph inspections across the country. Having DVSA Earned Recognition status isn’t just for commercial lorry and bus operators. ?? Several local authorities (councils) have joined the scheme. The transport operations manager at Wakefield council told us: “If any local authority is considering joining Earned Recognition, I’d say that the benefits far outweigh the effort. “The scheme provides the tools and the criteria to put you on the path of continual improvement, and I cannot overstate the rewards.”

DVSA have published the results of the Market Surveillance Unit (MSU) programme and emissions testing for 2024. The MSU plays a crucial role in ensuring that vehicles, parts, and equipment sold in the UK meet environmental standards and are safe for you to buy and use. Changes are being made to HGV driver qualifications to allow drivers to do a national or international Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). If you wish to drive in the EU and UK, you must complete 35 hours of International Driver CPC training every 5 years to remain compliant.
