We had a vision for Assembly Atlanta — to create a place that would generate workforce opportunities for many years to come, while honoring the history of the General Motors plant. Thank you to all of our partners in DeKalb County, including Decide DeKalb Development Authority, who welcomed our vision and helped transform Assembly into a reality.
Revitalization HELPS Strengthen Communities! Assembly Studios, a $2 billion mixed-use development in northwest DeKalb, is a perfect example and sits on the site of the former General Motors plant, which operated from 1947 to 2008. The GM plant employed many DeKalb residents. Today, the site is home to Assembly Studios and features 120,000 square feet of retail and entertainment, 500,000 square feet of commercial space, and over 700 residential units.
