ASSA advocates for the United States shipbuilding supplier community on industry-wide issues directly to Congress, the Navy, and the Coast Guard. We ensure the shipbuilding supplier base remains a vital component of the United States defense programs. Our main objective is to provide suppliers with invaluable opportunities to network with senior decision-makers and to obtain government intel. We represent 23 member companies that are based in 24 states and offer 6 annual networking opportunities with members of Congress, senior Navy officials, and shipyard senior officers.

Exciting news! Austal USA recently broke ground on its new 369,600-square-foot submarine module manufacturing facility (MMF3) in Mobile, Alabama, a development that strengthens Alabama’s role in the U.S. Navy Submarine Industrial Base (SIB). In recognition of her efforts to bring submarine manufacturing to Alabama, Austal USA honored our former CEO, the late Laura Haas Knox at the groundbreaking ceremony. ASSA Founder Carl Fisher and the Haas family were in attendance to celebrate this milestone. Set to be fully operational by 2026, the MMF3 is part of a $750 million expansion expected to create over 2,000 new jobs and support the production of Columbia-class and Virginia-class submarines.

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) will host an Industry Day to brief the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mission Modules (MM) Development, Engineering, Production and Sustainment (DEPS) program on 1 November 2024 from 0900-1700 PST at Naval Base Ventura Country Port Hueneme. Tours of the Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) will be included. Program Executive Office Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC), LCS MM Program Office (PMS 420) will host this Industry Day to brief the LCS MM DEPS program and to solicit industry feedback on the proposed program strategy. PMS 420 is the US Navy's lead Program Office for the development of rapidly deployable modular naval capabilities and innovative small-unmanned surface technologies capable of recognizing, intercepting, and preventing threats to the United States and her allies. Programs include all efforts pertaining to small-unmanned watercraft (e.g. attritable sea drones capable of communications, data collection, logistics, etc.), various LCS payload delivery systems with associated mission modules, LCS training facilities, mission package sustainment, and all operating and integration software necessary to employ these systems. #littoralcombatship You can find more details and request to participate here:?https://lnkd.in/gPc3mKkc
