At Aspire’s Veterans Day event at Mirasol, we began with a warm breakfast generously donated by Village Inn. Brittany, our Resident Service Coordinator, opened the event with a heartfelt message, honoring our veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and love of country. Together, we stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The event continued with a moving tribute by CSU ROTC cadets, who ceremoniously unfolded, refolded, and presented the flag to our veterans with a formal salute, symbolizing respect and gratitude. To conclude, Aspire served a light lunch as attendees connected and shared stories. We are grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating our veterans and honoring their service to our nation. Each day, Aspire Service Coordinators extend essential support to youth and families, veterans, and older adults living on low incomes who may be facing challenges ranging from accessing healthcare to finding reliable childcare or rental assistance. When residents turn to Aspire Service Coordinators, they’re often overwhelmed by the complex systems they need to navigate. Veterans face bureaucratic hurdles, families search for childcare in a crowded market, and older adults struggle with obtaining transportation or in-home support. Many residents have limited options, and resources can sometimes fall short, requiring extensive paperwork and patience that few can manage on their own. Aspire’s team is dedicated to bridging these gaps by connecting residents with local resources and advocating on their behalf whenever possible. Providing critical wrap around services. Every interaction provides a chance to ease the isolation many residents feel and simplify a daunting process. Residents are determined to succeed and provide for their families, but often don’t know where to begin. Whether guiding a young family through enrollment in essential services, helping a veteran access their hard-earned benefits, or supporting an older adult in securing transportation to medical appointments, Aspire’s Service Coordinators are there to lighten the load. Their commitment serves as a lifeline, empowering residents to move forward with renewed hope and confidence. Aspire Fall Kite Festival has become one of our city's favorite community events. This family-friendly celebration benefits Aspire's resident supportive services to elevate the quality of life for LHA youth and their families, veterans, and older adults living with low incomes. This event is open to all ages and includes live music, kite-flying, food and beverages, interactive programs such as kite-building, pro kite demonstrations, vendors, kids zone and so much more.
