关于我们

Aspire Afterschool Learning was founded 30 years ago as Greenbrier Learning Center in response to community need, providing critical afterschool and summer learning programs for historically underserved, low-income, and students of color in South Arlington. Aspire is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. MISSION Aspire’s mission is to expand learning opportunities that help historically underserved students fulfill their potential through afterschool and summer learning programs that support and connect families, schools, and communities. Aspire envisions an Arlington where all children have the support they need from family, school, and community so they can succeed as learners and thrive as healthy and happy individuals. WHAT WE DO Aspire Afterschool provides high-quality afterschool and summer learning programs that: - Serve young people in grades 3-8, critical transitional years in preparation for middle school, when students must strengthen their academic skills or be left behind by their peers - Uniquely meet the needs of students in low-income communities who are often English Language Learners - Create seamless connections with schools, including providing volunteers to schools for support during the school day - Partner with families to support learning - Demonstrate results, including improved reading and math levels.

  • Do you know about Aspire’s plans to open a STEM Makerspace at our location at the Arlington Mill Community Center? This space will help close the opportunity gap by exposing historically underserved students to STEM career pathways, giving them the confidence to pursue these fields, and providing the space for many hands-on learning projects. YOU can help make this vision a reality by donating! We’ve completed our fundraising for the build-out of the space, and we still need to raise $72,000 to help make the space come alive! Your support will help us purchase furniture, laptops, science experiment supplies, and other items that will support students’ learning in the new space. We hope to open the space in late Spring 2025, and your support today can help make that possible. Visit https://lnkd.in/e-vK_P-M to learn more and support STEM education!
