He holds degrees in Political Science, Pre-Law, and Civil Engineering from Michigan State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan. With expertise in asphalt industry standards, material testing, MDOT & municipal specifications, he has held roles from Civil Engineer to Director of Project Management. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, skiing, and sports, particularly baseball, football, and lacrosse.

We want to give a big shout out to Keith McLean, our General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer! Keith brings over 15 years of experience in the construction and real estate industries. With a background in economics, philosophy, and law, he holds a BA and JD from the University of Notre Dame, equipping him with a strong foundation in business strategy and legal oversight. He plays a key role in ensuring ASI Paving operates with integrity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Outside of work, Keith enjoys golf and cheering on Notre Dame Football. He lives in Michigan with his wife, Maureen, and their two sons, Daniel and Michael.

Exciting news! We’re thrilled to welcome Daryl Kaiser as our new Chief Financial Officer. Daryl brings extensive financial leadership across industries like construction, manufacturing, and real estate. Before joining ASI, he served as CFO of American Roads and held leadership roles at Rocket Mortgage and national accounting firms. A CPA with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Walsh College, Daryl specializes in financial strategy, process improvement, and shareholder value growth. He enjoys traveling, cycling, and time with his wife, Amy, and their daughter, Lexy.

Today we want to highlight our COO, Doug Howell. A Detroit native, Doug has dedicated over 35 years to the asphalt and construction industry. A proud alumnus of Detroit Country Day and Ferris State University, Doug discovered his passion for construction during a summer job in high school—a passion that has driven his career ever since. Since joining ASI in 1990, Doug has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth. Rising through the ranks from laborer to foreman, project manager, and operations director, he has built strong relationships and managed key accounts that have contributed to the company’s success. Today, as Chief Operations Officer, he leads operational strategy and execution, ensuring excellence in quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
