In Episode #3 of The Perri Peltz Show, Lynn Utter shared a powerful insight for times when trust is broken. Leaders often feel pressure to fix the situation quickly. But real trust isn’t built through persuasion—it’s built through understanding. ?? Take the time to sit down ?? Create space to truly listen ?? Set aside the need to be right Whether in a boardroom, a team meeting, or a high-stakes negotiation, the best leaders rebuild trust not by forcing agreement but by seeking to understand. When was the last time you changed the course of a conversation simply by listening? Networked leadership is about building ecosystems of influence, empowering others, and leveraging interconnected systems to solve complex problems. Consider this: ? How do I create constellations of leadership, not stars? ? Am I adept at yielding power to empower others? ? How do I foster collective intelligence to address interconnected challenges? ? The best executives don’t just lead—they cultivate collaboration across boundaries and drive systemic impact. Look at your organization, how can you embrace networked leadership in your sphere of influence? #LeadershipReflection #ExecutiveLeadership #CollaborativeImpact #AspenLeadershipSeminars #AspenInstitute #JoinUs

  • Leadership isn’t a solo act. In Episode #3 of The Perri Peltz Show, guest Frederick J. Riley of Weave: The Social Fabric Project at the Aspen Institute reminds us of a fundamental truth: “There is nothing that we can get done in this country alone… In our country, we’re better together. We always have been.” In uncertain times, isolation breeds fear, division, and even real harm. But when leaders cultivate connection and shared purpose, trust becomes the glue that holds teams, communities, and even nations together. What can leaders do to strengthen trust? ?? Acknowledge that no one succeeds alone. ?? Foster collaboration—working together bridges divides. ?? Create a culture where people feel valued and supported. The best leaders don’t just lead individuals; they weave communities. How do you build a sense of togetherness in your leadership? • For a Friday reflection, we’re thinking back to this quote from guest Eric Liu, Co-founder and CEO of Citizen University, points out in his segment of Episode 3 (“What Drives Trust in Leadership? Leading through Uncertainty”). The responsibility of leadership, like that of citizenship, means understanding how to move systems, change minds, and create impact—but it also requires a sense of civic character. It’s not just about what you want; it’s about how we live and lead together. In times of uncertainty, trust is everything. Leaders who earn it: ?? Lead with integrity and purpose. ?? Take responsibility for the communities they serve. ?? Build bridges across differences instead of deepening divides. Whether in business, government, or local neighborhoods, responsible leadership is about more than making decisions—it’s about fostering trust, collaboration, and shared purpose. Ask yourself, "How do I lead with trust?"

  • Uncertainty is a crucible for leadership. In volatile and unpredictable times, experienced leaders must draw deeply on their values as a compass for decision-making. Values provide clarity in chaos, enabling leaders to align actions with purpose and inspire confidence. How do you leverage your values to lead yourself and others, especially in chaotic, unpredictable times? Especially for senior leaders, the challenge isn’t just staying the course—it’s cultivating resilience, trust, and adaptability in those you lead. #AspenLeadershipSeminars #LeadershipReflection #ExecutiveLeadership #StrategicResilience
