It's my pleasure to provide the Water Utility Climate Alliance (WUCA) with leadership and management support, so I'm excited to share their 2024 Annual Report. With the help of organizations like US Water Alliance, Aspen Global Change Institute, The Water Research Foundation (WRF), Pathways Climate Institute, EPA's Creating Resilient Water Utilities Initiative, and more, WUCA was able to develop informative resources and trainings on climate adaptation best practices for water leaders. WUCA shares these resources with the water sector and climate adaptation professionals, so check out their website for more information on specific projects.
Water utilities are key players in their communities when it comes to #climateadaptation. WUCA spent the last year advancing leading practices in climate change adaptation and mitigation with a focus on guidance that is actionable, equitable, and transferable. Take a look at the WUCA 2024 Annual Report ?? https://lnkd.in/eZnnbUzP to learn more about how our alliance of water utility leaders is addressing a host of various climate change-related issues. The report contains information about topics such as incorporating equity considerations into climate change adaptation, leveraging the latest global climate projections for water resource planning, and more. All WUCA publications are free and available to water utility practitioners on our website.

Heat-related illnesses and fatalities are preventable, but outdoor workers, farmworkers, and other climate-sensitive populations often have little choice when it comes to heat exposure on the job. By raising awareness and equipping workers and employers with the necessary information and resources, we can effectively reduce the incidence of heat-related illnesses and deaths. Please join Aspen Global Change Institute, in person or online, for “PROTECTING OUTDOOR WORKERS: SOLUTIONS FOR EXTREME HEAT EXPOSURE,” a free talk by Nurse-Scientist and Worker Safety Advocate Dr. Roxana Chicas, PhD, RN, FAAN, Emory University. Dr. Chicas will explore the impact of working outdoors in high temperatures and discuss potential solutions to protect outdoor workers from heat stress. The talk will be followed by an audience Q&A and reception. Presented in Spanish, with English interpretation Tuesday, November 12, 2024 6pm MT / 8pm ET IN PERSON: Carbondale Library, 320 Sopris Ave, Carbondale, CO 81623 LIVE-STREAM: Free on Zoom, advance registration required: bit.ly/outdoor-workers More info: https://lnkd.in/dvJm-54i #ExtremeHeat #HeatStress #HeatHealth
